Pastor of Adult MinistriesI’ll keep this short. There are much more important (and interesting) things for you to read on this website.

I grew up in Kitchener Ontario. God blessed me with two loving parents and a little sister. We faithfully attended church every Sunday for as long as I can remember. I asked Jesus to be my savior when I was a small child, somewhere around grade 1 or 2. As I grew to become a young teenager I got involved in the church youth group and developed a strong desire to please God.

However, something was wrong, I was missing something. As I look back now I realize that my faith was not rooted, grounded, and sure. There were huge gaps in my understanding and belief in who Jesus is, what he’d done for me, and what he expected of me. Church was just a check mark on a long list of do’s and don’ts. As a result, as I got to the end of high school, Christianity came to seem like some giant leap of blind faith into a belief system that was full of holes. I thought that I could never count on Jesus and I could never live up to his standard anyway. So I decided to chuck the whole thing away. I turned my back on God, Jesus, the Bible, and church. I enrolled at the University of Waterloo to study math and computer Science and began my adult life far away from the Lord and I stayed that way for about 10 years.

During those years I met and married my wife Carolyn, moved to London, started a business, and began to enlarge our family. Soon after my first child, Bobby, was born, the Lord, in His great and awesome faithfulness, began to draw me back to Himself. I began to really seek out answers to life’s greatest mysteries. Much to my surprise, the Bible seemed to have an excellent explanation for even the most difficult questions that I could think of. The more I studied my Bible the more confident I became of the Truth that it claimed to be. Before long my faith was rooted and grounded and sure in a way that I never dreamed it could be! During this time, God also gave me another tremendous gift in that Carolyn also gave her life to following Christ. This was the start of God completely turning our lives around.

We quickly got involved in a local church and it wasn’t long before we were in a small group and serving regularly in a number of roles. As God began to grow us deeper in our faith and service to Him, we began to feel a calling to a greater urgency and purpose for our lives. After a few years we came to discover a preacher from Chicago who spoke with a power that we’d never heard before. We started to listen to him regularly and began to look into his history and that of the church that he started, Harvest Bible Chapel. As we listened, we became more and more convinced that God was looking for us to become totally sold out followers of Christ, for us to put Him first in our entire lives. We started to pray and ask God to show us a group of people that would be equally urgent about their spiritual growth and service in the kingdom. We even started to ask Him for a Harvest Bible Chapel in London.

Well it took a few years but God answered our prayers. One day in June 2006 we heard that there was indeed going to be a Harvest in London. We were, and still are, so excited about this church that God has led us to be a part of. It’s a great privilege to be involved with a group of people who are so passionate about being consecrated disciples of the King! We are looking forward to the fantastic blessing that God has in store for so many people in London through Harvest Bible Chapel.

I am so thankful for God’s faithfulness. I firmly believe that He will continue to faithfully bless and lead us as we continue to wholeheartedly follow Him! I am looking forward to our future together, both in this world and the one to come!

“ But you must remember, beloved, the predictions of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. They said to you, "In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions." It is these who cause divisions, worldly people, devoid of the Spirit. But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life. And have mercy on those who doubt; save others by snatching them out of the fire; to others show mercy with fear, hating even the garment stained by the flesh. Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen.”

And now for some trivia about Dan

Quick take: Ummmm…

Born: Yes

Little-known facts about me:  I’ve never had a tooth cavity my whole life.

I hope heaven includes: pizza, squash, chess (Also…I don’t know what you would call it…but some kind of machine that automatically cuts the lawn while I nap.)

My life's aphorism: “Don’t give up. God promises that there are great rewards in store for people who just keep going.”

I'd like to say to the people of Harvest:
“Let us know; let us press on to know the LORD; his going out is sure as the dawn; he will come to us as the showers, as the spring rains that water the earth."
- Hosea 6:3

“Until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.”  – Eph 4:13-16

Things I do not want to live without: Carolyn, Bobby, Joshua, Sydney

Hope to someday hear: What else could anyone wish to hear but…“Well done good and faithful servant.”

Most embarrassing moment: There are too many to choose from. (See my wife for the current complete and up-to-date list.)

Passion: Read Psalm 119

My family: First of all the most beautiful and brave woman I know, my wife Carolyn! Why is she the most brave you ask? Look who she married! She’s either brave or just crazy. Actually I think I just asked her when she was at a weak moment…or she didn’t really understand the question. Anyway she said yes and she has this thing where she always has to do what she says she’s going to do, so I pretty much lucked out! Oh…I also have three kids. They’re around here somewhere…

My education: is ongoing

High: Sunday mornings (I love our church!)

Low: The first few minutes right after the alarm goes off every morning.
