I am forever thankful that God has not given me what I do deserve, and that He continues giving me what I don’t deserve. His grace is truly amazing.
I was raised in a very “religious” home and was well provided for growing up. Upon entering my teen years, I traded plans to attend law school to initially pursue a career as a singer/songwriter and then various business interests. However, God had a much different plan. I was dramatically born again amidst the tragic death of a friend, and it was after the loss of our first son that the Lord led me to attend Bible College.
After serving for many years as an evangelism and discipleship pastor to youth, young adults, and adults, I stepped out in faith and founded The Cross Current, a local missions ministry and outreach broadcast. For the past several years, I have been equipping witnessing teams to preach the Gospel, pray for people, and minister to their needs. By God’s grace, He has also allowed me to preach open air on the streets of many cities across Canada and the United States.
As I reflect on the road traveled, it is truly humbling to realize that with every experience and trial the Lord has brought me through, He has been molding and shaping me to pour my life into Harvest London for His glory and for the fame of His Name.
My wife Dawn and I are both from Halifax, Nova Scotia and we thank God for our two sons, Joshua and Caleb. It is my prayer that our family will be characterized by a passion for preaching the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and equipping His Church to do the same.
And now for some trivia about Cory:
Quick take: Wouldn’t that be stealing?
Born: Halifax, Nova Scotia
Little-known facts about me: I am a fisher of men from the Maritimes who hates fish (don’t read too deeply into that). I have also never sneezed three times in row and (for those of you who know me) I do sleep!
I hope heaven includes: All that glorifies God…and my own Superman suit to fly in would be fun too.
My life's aphorism: Woe is me if I don’t preach the Gospel!
I'd like to say to the people of Harvest: Let’s all be Christ’s witnesses together.
Things I do not want to live without: Jesus Christ, Dawn, our boys, my Bible.
Hope to someday hear: ‘Well done good and faithful servant’ – what could be more worth hearing?
Most embarrassing moment: Let’s just say that I come by sarcastic wit quite naturally and it has backfired into pathetic embarrassment on more than one occasion.
Passion: My consuming passion is to be a faithful witness for Jesus Christ and to equip others to be the same.
My education: Though I graduated from Bible College with highest honours, Acts 4:13 kills my pride every time.
High: Hi!
Low: ‘ullo! (Maritime version of “Hello”)
Purpose: To bring the Lord Jesus praise, glory, and honour in all I think, say, and do.
