Hello Parents,
As we move into September you will notice a lot of new things happening around Harvest Bible Chapel and a lot of new things happening in Higher Ground Children’s Ministry. We are very excited about these changes. We hope that they will enhance what Children’s ministry works to achieve: a safe place for your children to learn about Jesus, but that is also clear and helpful to use for visitors and regulars alike.
First you will be noticing that we are doing things differently when it comes to registration. We will be having each family whether they are visitors or regulars go to the registration table (across from the coffee table in the lobby) to get name tags for their children. The name tags will also have it clearly identified if the child has an allergy, which we have been seeing on a rise in children’s ministry.
We are using the new computer system (Fellowship One) to give each family a new call number each week to improve our security. Workers in Children’s ministry are excited about the fact that every child no matter what the age will now have a sticker with their name on it so that they can call children by their first name. As our numbers grow this will help make each child feel important.
You will also notice that we have changed some of the names of the classes to make things easier for all of us to remember. Here are a list of the classes as they will show on the signs as of September 11th;
0-18 Months – Nusery
19-35 Months – Toddlers
3 Year Olds – Preschool
4 Year Olds – Junior Kindergarten
5 Year Olds – Senior Kindergarten
Grade 1
Grade 2 and Grade 3
Grade 4 and 5
Grade 2 and Grade 3 are together again this year based on the size of the class.
To add to the safety and visibility of our workers, you will soon see workers in Higher Ground t-shirts as of kick off Sunday September 11th
We hope this will help everyone know who to ask questions of about Children’s ministry and who to look for in emergency situations.
We are always looking for ways to improve, please let us know if we can be of help.
