Sanjiv Lama (Elder)
Sanjiv Lama, Elder at Kathmandu Church
The Lama Family: Sarita, Bashanta, Sanjiv, Solomon and Prashat.
Sanjiv's Testimony
I was born in a Hindu’s family. My childhood was like other ordinary people in my country. When I grew up, I went to the capital city of Nepal (Kathmandu) in order to work there from my village. I got married with my wife in Kathmandu. One day, my wife was seriously sick. I used to take her to the doctor for time to time. Whenever I used to go there, I had a hope that my wife would be recover. But my hope was false; she was more sick than before. I took her to the many hospitals. Later, I came to knew that she had a breast cancer.
I was very upset and I still didn’t give up. My savings money was finished by taking her to the doctor. Doctor told me that my wife will be going out of this world very soon. The life expectancy of my wife was very short. I was a Hindu at that time so that I had hope in the wizard. And I took my wife to the wizard. When I took my wife to the wizard, he rejected to look my wife and run away because, the condition of my wife was very critical. I was very sad to see the very bad condition of my wife. I didn’t have any hope at that time. Many people used to hate us because of my wife’s breast cancer. People used to go far from me and my wife instead of giving encouragement and feedback. I realized that there was no one to help when someone has a problem like we were facing.
One day, I met a person on the way. He preached me the Gospel. He told me that my wife’s can be healed if we truly believe and trust on God. I didn’t believe him for the first time. But I had to believe him because; I didn’t have any choice at that time. But to accept the Christ. I went to the Church with that man. I felt very good and rejoice when I went Church for the first time. I felt very good. I accepted Lord Jesus Christ on 10-05-1995 and was baptized. Me and wife together accepted Lord Jesus Christ on same time and took Baptism at same time. My wife begins to recover day by day and I was quite surprised of the power of our Lord Jesus. And I believed strongly on Jesus Christ that everything is possible on his hands.
Later, I and my wife believed on Lord Jesus Christ very much and he also gave us four sons as a blessings. Now, our life is blessed by him. Our God is really great!! Amen! Now I am doing ministry with Pastor Timothy Dahal. We are so happy because we all are harvest bible chapel Kathmandu.
