On our own – no! With God’s provision – absolutely!
It is that simple. We will need to raise at least $450,000 to
buy land assuming the cost is $750,000 (we can only mortgage 40% of
overall cost as per the bank’s mandate). And our desire
is to pay the land off completely – so we really are praying to raise
$750,000 or whatever up to this amount the land costs. And then
we need to raise about 50% of our building costs – so if the building
is $2.5M then we need to raise $1,250,000 dollars to build.
Most church building experts say you can typically raise about 2-3 times
your annual income in a church building campaign. Our annual income
is just over $500,000 so we are in the range of what many other churches
have done.
But we know the only way we can even contemplate this never mind accomplish
it is if God moves powerfully through His people to give generously
and sacrificially.
To God this is nothing in terms of cost. And He is our ultimate
source so we pray, trust and give and then watch to see what God does.
