As with all ministries of Harvest London the Elders team oversees
our building process. The elders realize the importance of empowering
leaders who are experienced and qualified to lead various ministries
and so they have set in place some top-notch leaders to help lead our
facility endeavor.
The staff are actively engaged in helping determine facility need in
terms of what ministries we run now and what we likely will in the future
and what numbers can be expected at them and therefore how big of rooms
will we need.
Rob Geertsema has volunteered to lead our facility team and has been
in place since last spring. Rob has asked a couple of guys to
help in these early days of the facility direction and will add members as the needs increase. We will add members to this team as we move
along the process as many have volunteered. Trust me there will
be lots of work for many to help out – just that for now it is a slow
process and we need just a small team right now.
Rob has experience constructing buildings in his own business and has
provided oversight in building a church building and a school in years
past. He is a quiet yet very wise and careful man who understands
the need to build effective, efficient buildings while managing the
cost carefully. Rob has volunteered to be our general contractor
which is a huge cost savings to the church and the link between staff/Elders
and General Contractor is absolutely key in a successful build so we
are very thankful to God for Rob and his team.
All the overall budgets, designs and plans will be approved by the Elders
with much input from those involved in various ministries but we also
will operate this area as we do with other areas – allowing qualified
leaders to lead and make decisions so a proper balance will be put in
place to allow day-to-day decisions by Rob and his team with things
being bumped to the appropriate ministry/church leaders as needed.
