Jesus teaching on finances

Home - Plugging In - News - Jesus teaching on finances Jesus taught more on finances than He did on prayer, heaven or hell.  Jesus tells us there is a direct link between our money/stuff and our heart.

All signs in the North American church seem to indicate that our hearts are not fully devoted to Christ ... at least based on how the average Christian handles their stuff and spends their money.

Was Jesus right when He said, 'where your treasure is, there will your heart be also'?  If so, one way to grow our love and passion for Christ and His work is to increasingly give our resources to His work.

These were some of the NT principles that were shared on Sunday, October 30, 2011 regarding our stewardship of God's resources.
  1. Give willingly and cheerfully – 2 Cor. 9:7
  2. Give privately – Matt 6:1-4
  3. Give generously and unselfishly – 2 Cor. 9:6
  4. Give regularly – 1 Cor. 16:2
  5. Give purposely – 2 Cor. 9:7a
  6. Give sacrificially – Mark 12:41-44
  7. Give proportionally – 2 Cor. 8:11-12
  8. Give knowing God will lavishly reward – 2 Cor. 9:6-8, Luke 6:38
  9. Give as an expression of your faith – Matthew 6:31-33
  10. Giving is first and foremost an act of worship and devotion to God – 2 Cor. 8:5

HERE is a list of most (all Norm could find) Bible verses that say anything about finances.

And HERE is another news item posted a couple of years ago about us and our finances.
