Sr. Pastor Padam Tamang
Kavre – Panauti, Nepal

Born into a middle-class Buddhist family, Padam was privileged to be sent to school. Here he was introduced to Hinduism and began to devote himself to the Hindu gods whole heartedly.
During a break from school, he went to the small library of the school were his father was on staff. Searching, he came across a small booklet called “The Human Heart.” It was a Christian tract describing the God-shaped hole and universal longing that all humans were given. Padam became restless with the truths in this booklet and searched for a Christian church near him to find a “holy man” there who could expound on these truths. No church existed so he traveled to the nearest town; 3.5 hours by foot. He walked into the town called Panauti and met an old friend named Simon. He was a Christian man. Simon was quite surprised to find Padam looking for a church and wanting the truth of God’s Word. Simon quickly took him to his church.
Padam walked into the church and saw many people singing and rejoicing in Jesus. They seemed free and happy and Padam felt this was good. The pastor stood up and preached a Gospel message. Padam was riveted and gripped by this good news and continued coming back. On February 26, 2001 Padam gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized.
Quickly, he took this good news of Jesus he received back to his village but was rejected there. He left and made Panauti his home where he was free to worship and grow in Christ. He then enrolled at a Bible Training Center and completed 2 years. Padam was introduced to Pastor Timothy of Harvest Bible Chapel Kathmandu, married his wife Sanu and they devoted themselves to the work of ministry to proclaim Jesus. People came to faith in Christ and Padam discipled them. A group of 30 Nepali believers formed.

Pastor Timothy gave Padam Harvest Training on Church Planting and he partnered to plant the 2nd Harvest Bible Chapel in Nepal.
Harvest Bible Chapel Kavre-Panauti, Nepal on June 25, 2011.
Panauti is a town, 10, 000 people, 32km Southeast of Kathmandu, steeped in culture and tradition. It is a very historical city found in Nepal, as it was originally a small state given by King Bhupatindra Malla as a dowry to his sister.

PRAY for:
- Sr. Pastor Padam and wife, Sanu.
- Believers at Harvest Kavre-Panauti to be firmly rooted in the Scriptures; for spiritual and physical protection as they follow Christ.
- The Gospel to advance in this city as the church boldly proclaims the riches of Jesus Christ.
- For steadfastness, faith and hope as they wait expectantly for the Lord's appearing.
